People Will Die!

As the GOP moves closer to getting meaningful tax reform legislation onto the president's desk, the Democrats have ratcheted up their anti-tax reform hyperbole to comical levels. Obama-era economic advisor Larry Summers writes this in the WaPo:
I suggested on Friday when it became clear that the tax bill would pass that “thousands would die.” In light of my sharp criticism of other economists’ claims regarding the legislation, some have asked whether my statement is well grounded. I think it is, but this should be open to debate.
Not be outdone, The Hill reports:
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) hammered the Republicans’ tax-code overhaul Monday evening as a culture-shaking economic “armageddon” that would haunt the working class for years to come.

Flanked by other top Democrats in the Capitol, the minority leader blasted Republicans for championing a tax proposal she equated to “the end of the world.”
Damn!

"Thousands Would die!
"It's armageddon!!"
"The end of the world!!!"

And here I thought it was tax reform legislation that actually would double the standard deduction and reduce taxes for the vast majority of Americans who are NOT in the 1 percent.

Here's a parody on all of this:

Driven by Trump Derangement Syndrome, progressives have increasingly relied on the "People will die!!" argument. I have no doubt that they fervently believe all of this, but a broader swath of Americans have discounted their claims and in many instances, view them as ridiculous bordering on delusional.
