Cray
I'm returning from my 4-month sabbatical just for today (I'm writing a new book) because I encountered a video that I must share.
As a young programmer (the term 'software engineer' had yet to be invented), I worked on large IBM and DEC computers as well as many smaller mini-computers. They were powerful machines in their day, but nothing compared to the awesome Cray-1 computer—the fastest supercomputer on the planet in the 1970s.
This video is worth watching and pondering. We have indeed come a VERY long way.
