Decency

As Donald Trump makes important progress on issues that actually do affect the American people (e.g., tax reform, jobs, income improvements for the middle and lower classes, the economy, reduced regulation, North Korea, and Iran), Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) goes into hyperdrive. At some level, possibly unconscious, many Democrats, their trained hamsters in the mainstream media, and far too many members of the deep state worry that Trump's accomplishments (when compared to the previous administration or for that matter, the previous 3 or 4 administrations) may finally begin to sink in with the American people. For that reason, they work overtime to bury any good news, no matter how significant, to spin any positive actions in the most negative way possible, and to cripple Trump's efforts at additional reform.

One example of the latter is the manner in which the Democrats and their trained hamsters have worked to assassinate Trump's cabinet appointees. They have slow walked virtually all through the conformation process, tried to demonize each in a variety of ways, and increasingly attempted to derail appointees (think: Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State).

But nothing compares to the what the Dems achieved as they assassinated Trump's appointee for the head of the Veteran's Administration. Let's set aside the fact that Dr. Ronny Jackson had no executive management experience in large organizations (a legitimate criticism) or that he seemed to be a spur of the moment appointee, the Dems decided to sling mud. James Freeman comments:
Attacking the character of presidential nominees is among Washington’s favorite sports. But by creating and distributing a compilation of anonymous smears against White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson, Montana Democrat Sen. Jon Tester appears to be setting a new Beltway record for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Today Dr. Jackson, a rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, withdrew from consideration to be Secretary of Veterans Affairs. This followed Mr. Tester’s unique contribution to public discourse and civility—a collection of un-sourced and unverified claims that the man lauded and trusted by Presidents of both parties is in fact a reckless, dishonest, mean-spirited drunk.

Some readers might think that, surely, a public official with the responsibilities of Mr. Tester would not publicize such attacks without first making a good-faith effort to verify them.
He didn't, and to my knowledge, not a single Democrat in the house or the Senate criticized Tester's despicable commentary, even though his evidence-free, hear-say allegations (something that has also become S.O.P. for the Dems, think: Adam Schiff)) cite supposed actions that occurred during an Obama administration. CNN's trained hamster, Anderson Cooper, conveniently forgot to ask Tester for evidence, dates, named sources ... you know, stuff that an unbiased 'journalist' might think to ask. But that's no surprise.

There may be a subtle subtext to all of this. The Dems have become so vicious that they hope to discourage good and competent people from serving this administration. Democrat smear shops take isolated facts and incidents and twist them into faux-scandals. They feed their taking points to the trained hamsters and a person's life can be sullied forever. It doesn't matter if it's true. All that matters is the innuendo. That might serve the Dems in their grasp for power, but it does not serve the American people.

It seems appropriate to recall a rejoinder made by Joseph Welch, an American lawyer who served as the chief counsel for the United States Army while it was under investigation for Communist activities by Senator Joseph McCarthy's infamous Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations in the 1950s. Welch responded to Tester-like allegations made by McCarthy by saying, "Have you no decency, sir?

For the Deranged Dems in general and their current spokesperson, Senator Jon Tester, it seems the answer is "no."

The Dems and their paid smear shops achieved a win — Dr. Ronny Jackson withdrew his name as a candidate for the VA-job. They also achieved yet another new low in their dealings with this president and his administration—repugnant behavior by an increasingly deranged Democratic party that does not deserve to lead.

UPDATE:
---------------

As an amusing aside let's consider the nationally recognized Democrat who best exemplifies TDS. Time Magazine "Time 100" honoree, Rep. Maxine Waters of California. Leaving aside the question of just what Waters did to deserve that 'honor,' here's a snippet of her comments (directed at the president) on the red carpet during the ceremony for honorees:
“Please resign so that I won’t have to keep up this fight of your having to be impeached, because I don’t think you deserve to be there.

“Just get out!”
Ooooh-kay then.
