Obamagate

In the months after Barack Obama left office in 2017, loyalists bragged that his administration was "scandal free." That preposterous claim was repeated by his trained hamsters in the media, who conveniently forgot Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the VA scandal, the "Fast and Furious" gun-running scandal and much, much more.

Now it looks like every one of those scandals might be overshadowed by machinations that occurred during Obama's last few months in office—after Donald Trump won an upset victory over Hillary Clinton. The Editorial Board of The New York Post (no friend of Obama) writes:

It’s now clear the Obama-Comey FBI and Justice Department never had anything more substantial than the laughable fiction of the Steele dossier to justify the “counterintelligence” investigation of the Trump campaign. Yet incessant leaks from that supposedly confidential probe wound up consuming the Trump administration’s first months in office — followed by the Bob Mueller-led special counsel investigation that proved nearly the “total witch hunt” that President Trump dubbed it.

Information released as the Justice Department dropped its charges against Gen. Mike Flynn shows that President Barack Obama, in his final days in office, played a key role in fanning the flames of phony scandal. Fully briefed on the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation, he knew the FBI had come up with nothing despite months of work starting in July 2016.

Yet on Jan. 5, 2017, Obama told top officials who’d be staying on in the new administration to keep the crucial facts from Team Trump.

It happened at an Oval Office meeting with Vice President Joe Biden, intel chiefs John Brennan and Jim Clapper and national security adviser Susan Rice, as well as FBI Director Jim Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates.

Gosh, the people in that meeting are the same people who lied, leaked, and then pushed the Russian collusion hoax and participated in a soft coup against a duly elected president. They have escaped culpability for their near seditious behavior—so far. But now, it looks like their house of cards is beginning to crumble. Even worse for Barack Obama, it looks like the cards may have been shuffled and set inside his oval office.

Matt Margolis writes about last week's "leaked" call between Obama and his supporters:

Listening to the call you can hear that Obama sounds shaky, even nervous discussing it. And there’s plenty of reason. In addition to setting up a perjury trap for Flynn, Obama officials also withheld exculpatory evidence and investigated Trump and his associates over alleged Russian collusion even though they had no empirical evidence of that collusion. Declassified documents also showed that Obama was aware of the bogus investigation and efforts to railroad Michael Flynn.

As Attorney General Barr has explained, the FBI had no justifiable reason for questioning Flynn in the first place, since, as the incoming national security adviser, it was well within standard practices for him to be having conversations with foreign ambassadors, such as Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak.

“Donald Trump’s victory increased the chances that this unprecedented spying on a political opponent would be uncovered, which would have been politically embarrassing at the very least,” the Wall Street Journal noted. “Targeting Mr. Flynn—and flogging the discredited Steele dossier—kept the Russia collusion pot boiling and evolved into the two-year Mueller investigation that turned up no evidence of collusion.”

“This among other things is what U.S. Attorney John Durham is investigating at the request of Attorney General William Barr. Maybe that’s why Mr. Obama is so eager to distort the truth of the Flynn prosecution,” they mused.

That sounds about right. Barack Obama should be worried. We know that the bogus investigation of Trump and his associates over Russian collusion was completely bogus. This was already a huge scandal, and now that we know Obama was being briefed on it, it’s even bigger.

Obama needs to be deposed ... now.

And then there's this comment by  Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) commenting on Obama's criticism of AG William Barr for dropping all charges against an obviously railroaded General Flynn:

“I’ve heard no comment from Mr. Obama about independent Inspector General findings that Andrew McCabe lied under oath to federal investigators multiple times. Or about how DOJ prosecutors falsely told the court that they had produced all Brady material to Flynn. Or when the federal government surveilled an American citizen connected to the Trump campaign without probable cause and based on intelligence the FBI knew was questionable at best.”

One of the problems that the Dems have is that they think they're bullet proof because their trained hamsters in the media won't ask relevant and probing questions. Problem seems to be that their bullet proof vest is made of tissue paper. Durham's footsteps are echoing louder and louder.

The classic TV comedy of the late 1960s, Hogan's Heros, had a memorable comedic character, Sgt. Schultz, whose tag line was "I know nothing. I see nothing. I hear nothing."

As more revelations about Obamagate come out, it seems that Joe Biden is taking on the role of Obama's "Sgt Schultz." When asked about his participation in the now infamous meeting in which top players in Barack Obama's administration plotted against the incoming Trump administration in January, 2017, Ebony Bowden reports:

When asked about the meeting by “GMA” anchor George Stephanopoulos, Biden said he was aware of the investigation but knew nothing else.

“I thought you asked me whether or not I had anything to do with him being prosecuted, I’m sorry,” he said.

“I was aware that they had asked for an investigation, but that’s all I know about it and I don’t think anything else,” he continued, without clarifying who “they” were.

It's kinda sad. Biden is cognitively impaired. He may truly know nothing because his brain no longer retains the memory ... or ... he may be lying. Either way, his obvious impairment gives him a distinct advantage when scandal occurs. He can play Sgt. Schultz convincingly and use that character (who may actually be all too real in his case) to blunt any inquiry into his complicity in Obamagate. Luckily, the other attendees at the White House meeting don't have that luxury.
